I LOST MY VOICE-19/12/07

Today was a terrible day in my life... When I woke up in the morning, I discovered, I am losing my voice. It became worst as time goes by...

The whole day, I wasn't talking much. All of them including my manager was not used to me being so quiet.
When I reached office, I told her I can't conduct lesson today. I was supposed to teach two colleagues on data entry for the last two plans which my colleague and I had choosen. But no matter how I tried, I still can't speak out loud. So sad...

So she, my pretty manager, had no choice but to take over me and teach them. Haiz.... Little did I knew that the lesson will end very late.

I made the wrong choice for troubling my manager... Well, if not for the company target set, we wont be struggling to hit that target....

Just hope I will recover real soon and hope I can get back my voice.

Today I had my lesson 2 for Financial Accounting 1. The lecturer, Gerard, was super funny. He used all kinds of language to make us understand his lesson. He also made a lot of jokes out of it to make us laugh....

He likes to tease us and trying to make us feel that accounting is not a difficult subject.

Indeed, it was my passion and love in accounting that made my learning as smooth as silk.... His lesson was fun...

When he asked me questions, I cant reply him as I cant speak out... Thanks to my class rep and also my best partner, she helped me to translate to Gerard. He was so shocked that he showed us he was amazed that I lost my voice...

But cant help laughing... He is a comedian..... I can see his hardworks paids off... Today he even used majong style to get us understand the process... But as he was not chinese, so his pronounciation was super funny...

He likes to say people as REN, the Business, this as ZHE GE, here and there as ZHE BIAN, NA BIAN... wahahaha.. See he so funny rite??? His drawings also very funny... When he drew lightning, one of my classmate thought it was other things... We laugh like made...

When he wanna call us to answer his questions, he will call, PENG YOU... haha.... He wanna us to remember how we get to credit the account or debit the account instead of remembering it is debit or credit in nature, he made a rhyme out of his own...

Take the bigger side minus the smaller side, put the figure on the smaller side. Also for the opposite version. (roughly it is like this la...)

When he wanna us to post from general ledger to Trial Balance, he will say the above rhyme..

When he wanna us to post from Trial Balance to Trading, Profit and Loss account or Balance Sheet, he will tell us to debit the account if it was on credit side of the Trial Balance mentally and credit it either at Trial Balance or Balance Sheet... Very funny hor...

There is also another rhyme he created, I DOT WANNA SHOW IT HERE, I WANNA SHOW IT THERE, PUT A BRACKLET.... Hahaha....

He really tried a lot of ways to help especially those who no accounting knowledge to understand better. We always looking forward for his lesson as he will sure made us laugh like made sia....

Just like today, he made us laugh throughout the whole lessons...
When he called my classmates, all was so nervous that they forgotten how to answer him using that rhyme he created...

Well, salute you, Gerard... You really made learning Accounting fun...
He tried many ways to help us. He even told us, if we missed any lessons, we can make it up by attending his Thursday's lessons. If we attend all his lessons, he can guarantee that we will score well. If we missed a lesson, we will fail for sure unless we are lucky as he will cover one topic for one lesson.

Hope his words came true as I will not missed any lesson of his. As for my Principle Of Economics, I would say, if I follow what that lecturer say, I will sure failed. His lesson not only dull. He is also not very good in teaching. No doubt he is a Doctorate. But we find his teaching a bit funny. He sometimes say softly sometimes raised his voice. Made us very difficult to follow. Hope self study for that will help us passed with flying colours...

Exams will be set on 1 and 14 April. Wish me good luck. I am beginning to love Financial Accounting 1 more and more each lessons.... :P
