Updates on December 2009 (1)

3rd December 2009
Finally started my lesson at Higher Advance. This is the last stage in the group vocal singing class.

In the end, I joined Dawn's class which was actually planned for me but due to my Advance class delayed, hence I was late to joined their class. If not I have to wait for 2 months to find another class for myself.

Today was my first lesson with them but it was their 4th lesson. Which means I was lagging behind by 3 lessons. Everything was new. New classmates and new environment. Except the teacher is not new, Rollin Lao Shi. :D

We actually have lesson at 7.30pm but due to not all present hence delayed. It was my first time see Dawn so close. I was very shy and whole lesson was super quiet. I met Augustine, Jiaqing, Jiayi and Dawn. Augustine was trying to get me intro myself but I can only say my name is Elaine. Haha.. Do not sound like me hor? Even Rollin Lao Shi also know why I was so quiet. He even say once I am adapting to this class I will be a bit noisy liao. :D

It was the first time I sang Qian Yan Wan Yu using Peter Lao Shi's version. Wonder why I was so brave to sing before Dawn and Jiayi. Anyway, was really fun to have lesson with them. They are more fun and noisy than the others in my previous class. :D

5th December 2009
Today was a long awaiting day. It was Ivy Jie's Gathering. We prepared since November. Venue was Larbordra Park(I think have spelling error).

It was supposed to be a happy gathering. At least during this gathering we were all happy. But there was something unhappy happened behind the scene which made the some of us very upset and angry.

Shall not name the person as was not worth mentioned. Well, supposed to help out for the grocery purchasing, end up due to somethings, did not turn up and only told us the night before. Starting was a lie saying was being pulled to join as one of the member was sick. Then came another lie, not that I do not wish to attend the gathering but had no choice to leave the group. Lies after lies. After that treat like nothing had actually happened and asked for forgiveness.

Some of us started to want to give a chance. But later we came to know those were all lies. Truth was, volunteered for the event, purposely place the practice on 5th December and told us lies after lies to make us believe or rather make the whole world believe it was just an innocent mistake. Well, I do know we have to have a forgive and forget heart. Do that person deserve our forgiveness and forget the whole incident, erased just like erased a black board?

Anyway, what's said cannot be unsaid. What's done can never be undone. Since choosen to do that to us, should be prepared to face the music and face the consequences of losing friendships. Since friendship to that person was so cheap and so easy to give up, why turn back and said I am sorry?

Glad that the gathering was not affected by this incident. Indeed everyone enjoyed. In turn, I make new friends like Min En, Fion and Xuehui(I know ur name is not spelt like that).

Thanks to Steven, Andrew, Evonne Jie, Xingyu, Wei and the rest for making this day happened and for making Jie so happy. A day to be remembered. Thanks.

After the gathering, was the sneak preview for the Storm Warriors by Down Syndrome Association Singapore. I bought the movie ticket to support the charity. I must say the movie was great and worth watching again and again.

After that, I watched Case 39. It was really a very scary movie that I was totally freak out. If it was still showing, please spend time to catch it. :D

10th December 2009
It was my 2nd lesson with them though it was their 5th lessons. Was getting more and more adapted to this class and getting more and more into their fun learning.

We even tricked Rollin Lao shi by changing the times 2 to times half. That made the exercise be 15 times half equals to 7 and a half. Everyone was very cooperative and we really stopped at the count of 7 and a half.

But indeed, that way makes the lesson more fun but in turn we lost time to learn something more. Anyway, I am kinda love VS132. Thanks.

It was my 3rd lesson and their 6th lesson. I learnt a lot today. We first starting from the focus voice. Than was asked to lean against the wall using the posture singing. Then was the lip position, every word sing with correct lip position and it can help with the pronouncing of words.

Then we have to do all in a whole, Focus, diaphram, breathing, lip position and movement. It was not easy and when we have too many things to focus, some of the steps we will missed. So Rollin Lao Shi suggest that we go home practice one step at a time and than combined all once we are comfortable.

I also learnt that movement and feelings will affect the projection of voice and the correct singing of the song. That really helps a lot for my future audition. I hope I can get it into practice soon. :D
