Updates on October 2009 (1)

2 October 2009
Today I was on MC. It is rather funny as I just tendered my resignation yesterday and I am sick today.

Well, she thought it was a rushed decision. But what she do not know was, it was all well planned. I choosen 1 October to tendered was on purpose. As I wanted to end at 30 October. Just nice as that day will be a Friday. Which means, I will be spared for month end closing stuff.

Sad to say, till date, none of the company had called me for an interview. I will not be dishearted as I felt they will call me soon. I will sure got a job before I ended my present job. :D

4 October 2009
Today was a happening day. It was outdoor event for the coming Singapore Hits Awards. Today was also a day where the 3 winners will get to sing the theme song together with Ai Jia.

Andrew was one of the contestants. We were there to support and root him. :D

He was very nervous and I could tell some of them was well prepared. Well, those people are from LWS. I was very amazed by their performance and one of them looks like Ella but she do not perform very well. Probably she was nervous.

I also learned how to sing a song in a rock way. I believe the dance steps was trained by their teachers ba. :D

Well, if next year have similar competition, I wonder will I have the guts to give it a try. Will Andrew try also? Maybe yes and maybe no. :D

After this was the performance by Lu Guang Zhong, Lala Xu Jia Ying and Tanya Chua. I was enjoying the whole events and was very happy as I can see them upclosed. Thanks to Evonne Jie for giving me this opportunity to view them so close.

Today I went back to work with a very sleepy mind. Anyway, about to leave the company. So do not need me to work so hard.

I was called to her desk early in the morning. She still could not believed I would tendered before I even secured a position in my new job.

I told her, well, it was me who rejected to secured the job as I still waiting for more interviews. I believed I will be shortlisted soon and I will not make myself out of job for long.

She do not believed me and even mentioned that what if I will be out of job for months as she foresees the economy to be still downturn. But once again, I assured her that I will be shortlisted soon. What she do not know was, I will be having an interview tomorrow for my dream company and dream position.

I do not find it a need to announce to her. In fact, I think her speech today was useless. She thought I will back off and asked her to return me the resignation letter. But I wont. If I did not thought through, I wouldn't even dare to bring that letter to her.

Well, I would say, I felt relieved when I handed her that resignation letter. It was my first and I believed my last resignation letter I would ever hand up.

Keep my finger crossed. Tomorrow's interview will be a success. :D

Today, I took a half day in the afternoon as I had an interviewed at 3pm. I was early as I reached at 2plus.

When I went in, I was asked to fill up the form as usual and waited to be called for an interview.

The manager, Jasmine, is a very friendly lady and I believe working under her will be better than working under.... Haha.. :D

She was telling me the job scope and the career path. She asked me if I am very interested in this line and asked me if I am willing to take up the challenge to be a Tour Leader.

I was very very shocked, I must admit, when she asked me if I am keen to be a Tour Leader. That was my dream and I thought it will remain as a dream.

She saw my sincerity and when she popped this sentence: "I will get HR to call you for signing the appointment letter." Oh my guan ying ma.... Does it mean I was employed? She replied, YES!

Can you believe, it was my first interview with her and previously when I went to the HQ for interview, I was being rejected. Now the subsidiary was hiring me. It was like a dream comes true. I was overjoyed and couldn't believe my ears.

Then she said each month, I will have 6 off days. She also told me the working hours and so on. I was very excited and can't wait to start work. Then she told me to start work at 2 November 2009 and off day will be on 1 November 2009 but pay will start from 1 November 2009. :D

When I left, I thanked her once again and can't wait to spread this good news to my buddy cum colleagues. They also felt very happy for me and I finally proved her wrong that I will be out of job for months. I am really blessed.
